I. Garden Opening

For what he desires
comes from the depths of the earth

لمايرغبفيهيستمدمنأعماقا لأ رض

Music : Whimsy then something simple we can sing to, can even be dark nursery rhyme esque.

Begins with “Even Dwarves Started Small” song Gardeners are milling about.

Spotlight on one gardener who begins to sing on the roof

Gardeners + Vocals riff:
can forms of fragility threaten forms of power? moving the orr of the earth
receptive
magnets

II. Industry

Music: Harsh
The bard cries out

“1, 2, 3, —- Taking and taking and taking”
Gardners + Bug arrange into a dramatic tableau of crying

“1, 2, 3, —- until something gives,”
Gardners + Bug arrange into a dramatic tableau of fighting

“1, 2, 3, —- until something inside of you moves again”
Gardners + Bug arrange into a dramatic tableau of ballroom dancing

III. Dirt

music: freestyle

Gardeners + Bug in a circle, falling to the ground, writing on the ground, writhing on the ground,

Vocals: “I don’t like puzzling together the early morning, winding up the blue jays and all that. responsibility. i much rather sleep until noon and walk onto a hot set.”

Take out sparklers and light them. Arrange again into circle. Play and raise sparkler, bard passes more out to audience. As sparkler’s flame dies, plant the stick in the ground. Take flashlight and illuminate pinned fabric flower from chest, and replant onto sparkler stick head.

Illuminate onto the flower, unfurl, and call out your notes:

Sitting in the waiting factory
it looked like a bird had caught on fire
grief is the reconstruction of a house
shoplift as much as you can [ all repeat this one]
grandma told us how they opened up the banks and threw all the money out being emotional has not rendered me useless it has made me focused
is the heart in the back of your head intentional?

IV. Rebozo

Music: New age

Rebozo choreography with long scarf. Doula leads.

All recite:

It would be an honor to be a clay vessel to transform the suffering of others. If I could run my body through a cool river and up to the lips of the thirsty.

V. FINALE

Music: Fun, triumphant.

Large puppet piñata hanging from roof, breaking of the piñata, seeds rain down.

——————————-

consider every part of your body, we set the pace, unfurl, elegance, energy, joy.

what whispers? what is bold?

Ear to the sky, ear to the ground.
Raise a part of your body you have never tried before.

Rhythm. Shake out of/ out a tune. Dance yourself right out of town. Goodbye. We are pretty. We don’t even have to try. Goodbye.
